Our second sale of Southeast Asian art includes gold, silver, and gemstone objects from long-lost ancient kingdoms in Southeast Asia such as Champa, the Khmer Empire, and the Pyu city-states. Many of the 187 lots in this sale were once part of the collection of Dr. István Zelnik, a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, some of Dr. Zelnik’s lots in our sale boast truly illustrious provenances. Nos. 42-50 were once owned by Bao Dai, the last emperor of the Nguyen dynasty. Nos. 96-99 were formerly in the collection of the imperial family of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran. We hope you will enjoy browsing through our selection and as always are available for any inquiries you should have!
