We’re delighted to present our latest Fine Netsuke & Sagemono auction, featuring a superb selection of more than 300 netsuke as well as several beautiful lacquer inro and other sagemono. Many of the pieces come from notable provenances such as the Hindson, Behrens and Brockhaus collections. Examples are a magnificent wood inro by Hidari Issan (lot 31) and a very large wood netsuke of a Shoki and oni (lot 66), both from the Mark T. Hindson collection.
Other notable highlights include our cover piece, a masterful wood netsuke of a rat by Masakazu (lot 149), a wood netsuke of a recumbent tiger, attributed to Tametaka (lot 139), a wood netsuke of a puppy scratching itself by Naito Toyomasa (lot 162), and an ivory netsuke of a monkey on a large mushroom, attributed to Okatomo (lot 82).
We invite you to explore these wonderful works and, as always, welcome any inquiries you may have.
