A BRONZE KORO (INCENSE BURNER) AND COVER WITH KARAKO

Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)
The rectangular body supported on four feet cast as Chinese boys supporting the censer, the wider sides of the body decorated with two panels, one enclosing a man standing atop a cliff and collecting water from a waterfall, the other with a phoenix in flight, the narrower sides depicting stylized makaras and set with makara-shaped handles, with a key-fret band below the upper rim, and the cover surmounted by a seated Karako.

WEIGHT 3,270 g
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, small nicks, light scratches, one handle and the karako finial reattached, a minuscule aperture to the underside, and a small hole drilled to one corner of the base.

The main points include the following:
- Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
- A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
- A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
