China. The youth clutching the beast's horn with one hand and grasping his billowing scarf with the other. The dragon fish with large bulging eyes, neatly incised scales, sharp teeth, and wings. The translucent stone of a fine celadon tone with russet veining and areas of dark brown.

Provenance: An old English private collection, thence by descent in the same family. Old label to wood stand, ‘Boy on dolphin, circa 1670 Kang Hsi, 36 […]’
Condition: Good condition with some old wear, the tailfin with a small loss, minor nicks here and there. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.

Main points include:

  • Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
  • A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
  • A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
