The panel is carved on one side in high relief, skillfully utilizing the shadings of the stone, to depict a vast rocky landscape with various trees and pavilions, a fisherman in a small boat emerging from behind a rock, and another figure crossing a bridge above a finely incised waterfall. The reverse is inscribed with a poem.
Inscriptions: To reverse, a poem, and signed ‘Ma Genxian’.
Provenance: The property of a Gentleman in London, United Kingdom.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, minuscule nicks, and shallow surface scratches.
Weight: 1,554 g (excl. stand) and 2,077 g (incl. stand)
Dimensions: Size 25.7 x 19 cm (the duan stone panel), Height 30.8 cm (incl. stand)
With a carved hardwood stand, probably of the period. (2)
