A FACETTED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE, c. 1920s
LOT 925 - AK0124
China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Of a lobed rectangular form with facetted corners, supported on a rectangular foot, and rising to a short cylindrical neck. The translucent stone of beautiful grey to lavender hues with natural milky white and some darker inclusions.
Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear, nibbling to the foot and mouth, a chip to the stopper, and the stone with natural inclusions and fissures.
Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.

- Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
- A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
- A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
