China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Comprising three blue and white dishes decorated at the center with a river landscape with trees and pavilions, framed by a floral border at the upper rim, the reverse with three floral sprays; an underglaze blue painted dish with a willow tree in a garden setting, framed by floral sprays and a geometric band; an underglaze blue and red painted dish with deep sides depicting birds on a prunus tree; a polychrome enameled dish with a pheasant on a prunus tree and rockwork issuing peonies, framed by a band of four cartouches depicting birds and flowers; and a lobed dish with polychrome enamels and underglaze blue, imitating the Japanese Imari design.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, light surface scratches, little nibbling to the rims, minor wear to the enamels, and firing flaws including pitting, dark spots, and kiln grit. The blue and white ‘willow tree’ dish with a hairline and repairs to the upper rim, the enameled ‘birds and flowers’ dish with a chip to the base.
