Of circular form with a central aperture drilled from both sides to form an encircling ridge. The variegated stone of pale green and light brown color with extensive grayish-white patches and veining. Few translucent areas of the stone appear red when light is shone through from the other side.
Museum comparison: Compare a closely related bi, also dated to the Liangzhu culture, c. 2500 BC, 19.1 cm diameter, in the collection of the British Museum, museum number 1937,0416.8. Compare a related bi, also dated to the Liangzhu culture, in the collection of the Freer Gallery of Art in the National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution, accession number F1918.23.
