A LARGE FLAMBÉ GLAZED BALUSTER VASE, LATE 19TH CENTURY
Lot 267 - HS0625
China. Of baluster form, tapering towards the foot and surmounted by a trumpet neck, the shoulders enclosed by a raised band, covered in a glaze of crushed strawberry thinning to mushroom around the upper rim and lined with fine lavender streaks. The glaze pooling over the mouth into the interior.
Provenance: From a noted private collection in Geneva, Switzerland, assembled since the 1960s, and thence by descent. An important part of this collection was on permanent loan and exhibited over several decades at the Asia-Africa Museum in Geneva. The base with two old labels, ‘Kang-she 1662-1723’ and ‘Art Ancien de Chine & Extrême-Orient Genève’.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, fine surface scratches, and firing irregularities. The foot with glaze flakes and small old chips inherent to uneven glaze dripping during manufacturing, all as expected from this type of ware.

- Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
- A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
- A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
