† A LARGE THANGKA OF A NOBLEMAN, c. 1900s
Lot 29 - HS1224
Tibet, 1st half of the 20th century. Distemper and gold on cloth. Depicting a nobleman seated in dhayanasana on a cushioned throne, his right hand in bhumisparsha mudra holding a lotus sprig, a script in his left hand, and dressed in flowing and finely detailed robes. The face with a serene expression, a moustache above a bow-shaped mouth, downcast eyes, and the head surmounted by a bejeweled, five-tiered crown. He is backed by lush greenery and surrounded by two Buddhas above and worshippers below.
Provenance: Acquired by the father of the present owner in Tibet around 1970 and thence by descent.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, creasing, loose threads, and few small tears, browning, and soiling.

The main points include the following:
- Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
- A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
- A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
