Tibet. Distemper and gilt on cloth. Seated in dhyanasana atop a lotus cushion backed by a foliate mandorla and halo, her left hand holding the parasol between two fingers, the other hand lowered in abhaya mudra, wearing loose-fitting robes and billowing scarves, richly adorned with jewelry, surrounded by bodhisattvas and monks in a landscape with temples and trees, the upper margin with two groups of deities descending from the sky on clouds.
Provenance: Acquired by the father of the present owners around 1970 and thence by descent.
Condition: Good condition with some wear, creasing, abrasions, minor losses, possibly minor touchups.
Dimensions: 160 x 126 cm
Expert’s note: Thangkas depicting Sitatapatra with one head and two arms are rare, as she is much more commonly depicted in her popular 1000-headed and 1000-armed form as well as other multi-headed manifestations.

十八至十九世紀大型大白傘蓋佛母唐卡
西藏,布面膠彩描金。佛母結跏趺座坐於蓮座上,後有光背,左手兩指夾白傘,另一手下垂施無畏印,穿著寬鬆的長袍,佩戴著華麗的瓔珞,周圍環繞著菩薩與和尚在廟宇景觀中,上邊緣有兩組神靈在雲上從天而降。
來源:現任藏家的父親購於上世紀七十年代,保存至今。
品相:狀況良好,有一些磨損、摺痕、擦傷、輕微損失以及輕微修飾。
尺寸:160 x 126 厘米
專家注釋:描繪一首兩臂大白傘蓋佛母的唐卡很少見,一般情況下是千首千臂或多首形式。
