China, 1644-1912. Gouache and ink on woven silk. Finely painted with a pair of egrets beside water, flanked to one side by a large peony issuing blossoms and water reeds. With two illegible seal marks. With a silk brocade mounting and framed behind glass.
Provenance: A Belgian private estate. European private collection, acquired from the above via the local auction market.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, little soiling, tiny tears, small repairs, and browning. The frame with few small chips.
