China, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), probably Tongzhi period (1861-1875). The deep rounded sides supported on a short, tapered foot, the exterior delicately enameled and gilt with four circular medallions with the character shou (longevity), each surrounded by five bats and spaced by ribbons, with a border of peaches below the mouth rim, all against a bright yellow ground and framed by the rim and foot in iron-red. The recessed base with an iron-red four-character reign mark Tongzhi nianzhi and probably of the period.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities.
Provenance: Parisian private collection, according to the current owner bought at Galerie Stuker in 2018, previously from a private collection in Bern, Switzerland.
