China, Jiaqing period, 1796-1821 or later in the Qing dynasty. The shallow rounded sides supported on a short foot and rising to a broad everted rim, painted in iron-red to the interior with a central ‘shou’ symbol within a raised rim, encircled by two sinuous four-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls amid flames, clouds, and bats. The exterior similarly decorated with five evenly spaced bats.
The recessed base with a six-character mark da Qing Jiaqing nianzhi.
Provenance: From a private collection in Malaysia.
Condition: Very good condition with little wear to the iron-red and few light surface scratches.
