China, 9th-10th century. Of globular form with an arched twisted rope handle and an elegantly curved spout decorated with dotted applique, covered in a green glaze with swirls of brown streaks simulating marble.
Provenance: Christie’s Hong Kong, 7 December 2021, lot 3237 (part lot), sold for HKD 37,500 or approx. EUR 4,500 (converted and adjusted for inflation at the time of writing).
Condition: Good condition with wear and firing irregularities, tiny nicks, dents, some dark spots, losses to the pigments and few touch-ups to the glaze.
