AN ARCHAISTIC BRONZE VASE, GU, CHINA, QING DYNASTY
Lot 789 - AK0725
China, 19th century. Heavily cast in gu form, the tall, flaring trumpet-shaped mouth rising from a bulbous midsection and cylindrical foot. The surface is intricately cast with archaistic motifs, including abstract scrollwork in horizontal bands. Elongated blade-like panels extend from the flared rim, each filled with intricate geometric and zoomorphic designs. The central section is decorated with prominent vertical flanges.
Provenance: Private estate, United Kingdom. The art collection, comprising over 100 fine and eclectic Asian works of art, including pieces from China, Japan, and other regions, has been formed primarily 20–30 years ago.
Condition: Overall good condition with wear and casting irregularities. A loss, with traces of soldering, to the base, few nicks, some dents, rubbing, and light surface scratches. With a dark and natural-grown patina.

- Bidders must complete their due diligence and clarify all questions about the objects before the auction. After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full. Of course, this does not apply to questions concerning shipping, insurance, customs, etc.
- A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
- A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
