A HONGMU SIDE TABLE, LATE QING DYNASTY TO EARLY REPUBLIC PERIOD

China, 19th - early 20th century. The table is probably made from Hongmu and shows a fine, elegant grain overall. It is of rectangular form with a floating panel to the top frame, and shows well-carved spandrels reticulated as squared C-scrolls on the side, joined together in the middle by a double band. The straight legs are linked by humpbacked joints.
Provenance: Lempertz, Cologne, Germany. Austrian trade, acquired from the above.
Condition: Good condition with minor old wear, fine age cracks, naturally grown patina, some expected minor splits and gaps, and some shallow surface scratches.

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
