Of rectangular form with oval section, finely carved in low relief with a continuous scene depicting two Chinese scholars in conversation under pine and willow trees, and another immortal seated on a rock, all against a diapered ground, the top and bottom with ribboned symbol within scrolling clouds. The exterior is lacquered in red and black, the interiors of nashiji with gold fundame rims.
With a matching ojime carved with flowers.
HEIGHT 7.2 cm (the inro), and 1.3 cm (the ojime)
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and few tiny nicks and flakes to the lacquer to the interior.
