Finely cast with an elongated silhouette, the tall, slender lower section rising from a flared foot and swelling subtly at mid-body before tapering upward into a long, narrow neck surmounted by a gently flaring mouth, with vertically incised lines. The bronze finished with a fine, warm, coppery brown patina. The base with the artist’s signature NORIO.

With an artist’s leaflet and original wood tomobako (storage box) inscribed to the top of the cover: Tachisenmon-Ichirinike (one-flower arrangement vase with standing lines pattern), and to the back: Nihonkogei-kai seikaiin (Full member, Japan Kogei Association), Norio Asano.
Asano Norio was born in Kyoto in 1940 and trained in traditional Japanese metalworking techniques. He was recognized as a full member of Nihon Kogeikai, the most prestigious association of Japanese traditional craftsmen. His works have been exhibited at major national craft exhibitions, earning him a reputation for precision, balance, and timeless aesthetic appeal.
