Well potted, the flattened, circular body supported on a splayed foot with scalloped ridges, rising to a waisted neck with a semi-spherical mouth. Richly decorated in gilt and colorful enamels with two round medallions vividly depicting warriors to one side and boys at study inside the palace to the other, on a gilt-stippled and finely crackled, creamy-white glazed ground. The sides profusely embellished with differently shaped lappet bands and floral brocade patterns extending onto the foot and neck of the vessel. The shoulders molded with prunus blossoms from which a mock ring emerges, suspending a ribbon with long, flowing tassels.

Condition: Good condition with surface wear, small firing irregularities, rubbing and abrasions to enamels.
Provenance: Private estate, United Kingdom. The art collection, comprising over 100 fine and eclectic Asian works of art, including pieces from China, Japan, and other regions, has been formed primarily 20–30 years ago.
