The Goddess of Mercy seated with one leg folded underneath, her hands resting on her raised knee, dressed in voluminous robes with a ribbon to the chest, the face with a serene expression detailed with downcast eyes and a calm smile, the hair tied to the top and covered with a veil, one large circular aperture to the back.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities including dark spots, pits, and minor glaze cracks. Tiny chips to the tips of the fingers and to the attribute she’s holding.
