A RARE EMBROIDERED THANGKA OF BHAISHAJYAGURU, QING DYNASTY
清代罕見刺綉藥師佛唐卡

Lot details

Sino-Tibetan, 1644-1912. Embroidered silk on silk ground. The blue skinned Medicine Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne, his hands in bhumisparsamudra, a medicine bowl resting on his left palm. He is dressed in a red robe, the face with a serene expression and backed by a conjoined aureole and nimbus, all finely worked in long satin stitches.

Provenance: From a private collection in Belgium.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, soiling, minuscule losses and few hardly visible tears to the background. The textile mounting further with few small tears and loose threads.

Dimensions: Image size 31 x 23.5 cm, Size incl. mounting 52 x 35.5 cm, Size of frame 75 x 65 cm

With a silk brocade frame, mounted as a hanging scroll. Matted and framed behind glass.

漢藏,1644-1912。主尊藥師琉璃光佛居於畫面正中,身著紅色袒右肩式袈裟,左手捧缽,右手置於膝前,掌心向外。他面容安詳,後有光背。全部用緞面刺綉而成。

來源:比利時私人收藏。
品相:狀況良好,輕微磨損、污漬、微小缺損和背景幾乎看不見的撕裂。輕微小撕裂和鬆散的線。

尺寸: 畫面31 x 23.5 厘米, 總52 x 35.5 厘米, 框75 x 65 厘米

錦緞裝裱成掛軸,玻璃裝框。

Intended Spend and Bid Limits

When you register to bid in an online auction, you will need to share your intended maximum spending budget for the auction. We will then review your intended spend and set a bid limit for you. Once you have pre-registered for a live online auction, you can see your intended spend and bid limit by going to 'Account Settings' and clicking on 'Live Bidding Registrations'. 

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT.  For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
