A HUANGHUALI ‘GHOST EYES’ BRUSHPOT, BITONG, LATE MING TO EARLY QING DYNASTY
明末清初黃花梨鬼眼筆筒

China, 17th-18th century. Of massive cylindrical form, the finely grained wood with several distinct ghost eyes and peaks, all with a rich, dark chocolate-brown patina. The wood stopper inside the base of the pot is possibly of a later date. Very good polish with an elegant luster and an unctuous surface.
Provenance: New York trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor old wear, few natural age cracks, fine patina overall.
Weight: 2,580 g
Dimensions: Height 22.1 cm
Expert’s note: Note that one of the natural ‘ghost eyes’ actually has the distinct look of a face with a pair of eyes, mouth, and nose. This is quite rare to find!

中國，十七至十八世紀。選料精良，器形碩大，用一段質地細密、紋理美觀的大料整挖鏇成。筒身中段略微有腰，壁厚，通體素面，簡潔明快。筆筒底部的木塞可能是較晚的做的。包漿瑩潤。

品相：狀況極好，有輕微的磨損與自然年代裂縫，整體光澤良好。

For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
