China, 1279-1644. Well carved and finely reticulated to depict two cranes amid dense clusters of furled leaves and curved stems issuing lotus blossoms above neatly incised waves. The translucent stone of a good celadon tone with icy inclusions.
Provenance: From an old private collection in Berlin, Germany, assembled before 1950.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear, small nicks, tiny nibbles, and a minor chip along the edges, most of which have smoothened significantly over time. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which have developed into small hairline cracks over time.
