A FINELY CARVED YAOZHOU CELADON ‘LOTUS’ BOWL, SONG DYNASTY
宋代耀州窯青釉印蓮紋碗

China, 960-1279. The flared and steep bowl with rounded sides, rising from a slightly flaring foot, freely and virtuously carved to the interior depicting two lotus sprigs with leaves. Applied overall with an olive-green glaze pooling to a deeper color in the recesses and ending above the foot, thereby revealing the gray body.
Provenance: Austrian trade.
Condition: Good condition with some old wear, traces of use, surface scratches, manufacturing flaws including glaze lines, a hairline to the side with associated minuscule losses, and a small chip to the foot rim.

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
