A LONGQUAN CELADON ‘PEONY’ DISH, YUAN - MING DYNASTY
元至明龍泉青釉牡丹暗紋盤

China, 13th-15th century. Of deep form, the center molded with a flowering peony sprig, surrounded by combed motifs radiating towards the well with freely carved scrolling leafage before the deeply grooved everted rim. Covered overall in a celadon green glaze suffused with a dense network of crackles, the base with an unglazed ring burnt to orange in the firing.
Provenance: The National Museum of the Philippines, registration number ‘0015864’, according to label on base. Since 1998, the NMP has been the principal regulatory agency in the restoring and safeguarding of important cultural properties, sites, and reservations throughout the Philippines. This has also resulted in various concerted deaccession efforts.
Condition: Good condition with some old wear, few light surface scratches, intentional crackling. Some firing imperfections.

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
