A KATHMANDU VALLEY BRONZE OF THE STRIDING GANESHA, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
十七至十八世紀加德滿都谷地象頭神銅像

Nepal. Well cast in alidhasana on a lotus base, dressed in a dhoti, the primary left hand holding a bowl of sweets, his primary right holding prayer beads, the upper left with a goad, and the upper right with his broken tusk. The face detailed with wide-set almond-shaped eyes and an urna, the head surmounted by a foliate crown and flanked by floral earrings, all surrounded by a flaming mandorla with beaded lower rim.
Provenance: A Belgian private collection.
Condition: Very good condition with old wear and some casting flaws, few nicks and dents, light surface scratches, and remnants of gilt. The underside with remnants of soldering and malachite encrustations.
Weight: 450.0 g (excl. stand), 683.8 g (incl. stand)
Dimensions: Height 14.5 cm (excl. stand), 15.8 cm (incl. stand)

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
