AN IMPERIAL MOLDED AND ENAMELED PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE, JIAQING MARK AND PERIOD

China, Jingdezhen kilns, 1796-1820. The flattened ovoid bottle is crisply molded and finely enameled with a continuous scene depicting Xiwangmu and her attendants receiving an immortal visitor riding a buffalo, in a palace garden with colorful swirling clouds and neatly incised crashing waves, the details picked out in bright enamels. The recessed base with an iron-red four-character seal mark Jiaqing nianzhi and of the period.
Provenance: Collection particulière dans le département Eure-et-Loir, France.
Condition: Some wear, nibbling and manufacturing flaws, a minor hairline to the foot. The neck has been smoothened and the red collar is a later addition.
Stopper: Carved jadeite

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
