A ‘EUROPEAN SUBJECT’ REVERSE GLASS PAINTING, 18TH CENTURY
十八世紀《歐洲人物》鏡畫

China. Of rectangular form, depicting a figural scene of a small town with ladies, gentlemen, and children engaged in their daily pursuits, two large trees at the center, and buildings in the background. The gentlemen dressed in red and blue robes with black hats and white stockings, the ladies wearing fine dresses in pastel colors.
Provenance: British trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, few light scratches, minor stains, and little rubbing to the colors. The wood frame with old wear, traces of use, few nicks, and shallow scratches. The colors of the paint still quite crisp, and thus displaying remarkably well.

Framed behind glass, the hardwood frame with a ruyi-shaped metal mount for suspension.

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT. For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
