A CARNELIAN AGATE MINIATURE ‘PHOENIX’ SNUFF BOTTLE, 18TH-19TH CENTURY
十八至十九世紀紅玉髓鳳紋輔首小鼻煙壺

China. Of baluster form, supported on a thick oval foot and rising to a cylindrical neck with galleried rim. Each side carved in low relief with an archaistic phoenix above a band of stiff leaves, flanked by beast masks in high relief. The translucent stone of a deep red color with distinct white bands.
Provenance: English trade. The base with an old label, ‘249’.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear and minuscule nicks. The stone with natural inclusions and fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time. The stopper lost.

For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
