A SINO-TIBETAN GILT BRONZE OF VAJRASATTVA, 19th CENTURY
Gilt bronze, copper base, some cultic painting
Sino-Tibetan, 19th century

The prehistoric crowned buddha, depicted here with his arms crossed holding a vajra and a gantha in his hands. He wears a crown, behind it his high ushnisha tied in a double-bun and painted blue. His face with a serene expression, painted in gold. He is seated in padmasana on a lotus base and is wearing ornate jewelry with garlands flowing from his robes. The base is closed and of copper, incised with a double vajra.
