Typical ceramic of the Yixing type from Jiangsu, the most meaningful old center for tea ceramic. Very fine red fired clay with blackish patina. Purposefully irregular, lightly hexagonal edged form with distinctive spout and handle, both designed as branches – with exceptionally modelled, partly threedimensional, plum blossoms. The branch serves as handle on the flat lid. Underneath a beautifully done seal mark, a very little one can also be read on bottom of lid, yixing zisha (violet tone).
