A BLUE AND WHITE LIDDED GINGER POT AND SMALL VASE

China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century

This ginger pot has the typical bulbous shape and landscape painted with dynamic brushstrokes. Fishermen on a lake, huts, mountains and fishing cutters. On the lid, a landscape is suggested. The foot, outer mouth and start of the shoulder, as well as a part of the inside of the lid, are unglazed. Small vase with blue underglaze decoration. On the front side, an archaizing vase, on the back a single leaf. The neck and lip as well as the bottom edge and bottom are unglazed. Very well preserved.
