A LARGE BISCUIT PORCELAIN ‘CRICKET AND BAMBOO’ BRUSHPOT
Biscuit porcelain
China, late 19th – early 20th century

The brushpot of cylindrical form and carved in relief with a leafy bamboo stalk with a cricket on one of the leavers. A worm can be found crawling out of a small hole in the surface. Maker’s mark to the base.

Dimensions: HEIGHT 16.5 CM
Condition: Three small chips around the mouth, several smaller chips to the leaves of the bamboo stalk and a section of one branch lost. Optical appearance still very good.
