The vessel is used to hold the water into which the seven holy rivers of India are invoked through incarnations. The holy water is then only handled through a special spoon (Uddharini) and used for Hindu rituals. The vessel is of simple form and incised with geometrical lines. The spoon is very finely cast, with the handle in the form of a Naga and below it, a representation of Ganesha.
