Fired clay painted in shades of red and tan
Inca or Moche culture, Peru, c. 15th century

TL-test certificate no. 06250811, dated August 2011, by the Kotalla laboratory in Germany included

The vessel’s body is cubic, a dignitary sits with crossed legs on top of it, with three-dimensional features and tan paint coating over a red base tone. The arched handle emerges from the man’s back, the spout sticks out diagonally.

Dimensions: HEIGHT 12.5 CM, LENGTH 13 CM
Condition: Optical appearance very good, restoration to exposed areas
Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Dr. Gottfried Eysank of Marienfels, Bad Schönau
1970, then property of Galerie Alt-Amerika in 2011
