DEER'S HEAD VESSEL – INCA EMPIRE, PERU, C. 1400 AD

The deer´s neck works as a pedestal, the head shows a snout with a jagged smile, almond eyes and antlers with 3 points on each side. On top of the hollow head and supported by the antlers is a big rounded hollow vessel.

Dimensions: HEIGHT 19 CM, BASE DIAMETER 9 CM
Condition: Optical appearance very good, restoration to exposed areas
Provenance: formerly form a German private collection, 1970, then property of Galeria Peruana in 1992
