This form is known as Aryballos, because it resembles ancient Greek vessels. A pointed base, globular shape and tall slender neck with a flaring rim, two small handles to the sides. These bottles were placed in holes made on the ground, where they could easily be tilted for pouring into drinking vessels.

Dimensions: HEIGHT 20 CM, WIDTH 16 CM
Condition: Age-commensurate surface wear and abrasions, small chips to lip and handles
Provenance: Formerly part of the Lüders Collection (Germany), acquired around 1970, then property of Galeria Peruana in 1992
