A MASSIVE NEOLITHIC STONE PESTLE – TENERE

Tenere region, Sahara, Niger, Africa, Neolithic period (4000-6000 BC)

An unusual long and heavy Neolithic stone of tan color, the surface is very rough. This particular pestle or grinding tool would have been used as a rolling pin with a mortar to grind grains, nuts and other food.

Condition: Overall good condition with traces of use and age such as erosions and holes
