A PAIR OF CAPARISONED ELEPHANT BRONZES
China, 17th-18th century. Shown on a stepped plinth with four feet, the massive bodies arrayed in rich trappings inset with coral and turquoise beads, the back draped with a neatly incised blanket from which rises a baluster vase above lotus sprays. (2)

Provenance: From an old European private collection.
Condition: Fine condition with a solid chocolate-brown patina, some wear, remnants of old lacquering, several inlaid beads lost, minor dents, the vases once were removable but are now attached.

Weight: 1735.9 grams and 1569.9 grams
Dimensions: Height 16.5 cm each
