A TIBETAN CARVED WOOD MANUSCRIPT COVER WITH BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI, 16TH-17TH CENTURY
Tibet, 16th-17th century. Carved in relief with Buddha Shakyamuni, seated in padmasana and showing the bhumisparsa mudra, in the center, another Shakyamuni with an alms bowl on the left and Buddha showing dhyana mudra on the right, surrounded by floral designs. With old lacquer coating.
Condition: Wear, chipping, some cracks and losses to the lacquer.
