DECORATIVE PEARL IN CONG FORM
Green jade with powerful brown areas
China, late Qing dynasty, end of 19th, beginning of 20th century

The straight, quadratically shaped form of a cong has been recreated exactly, although it is rather conically tapered here. All four sides feature relief with elevated lines and alternating, archaic kui dragons and - also primitive in appearance - phoenixes.
