Very good, rare statuette of Lakshmi. She is the wife of is Vishnu and worshipped as goddess of beauty, luck and wealth. She stands on a round lotus pedestal, her full voluptuous breasts are not bare, but veiled by a thin top. The under garment is a silky dukula. One hand held below, in the other is a lotus blossom (die blossom petals are polished), on the head are a tall mukuta and lotus leaves, a blossom could also have been depicted on the back. Fine, sovereign facial expression. Good age patina.
