Absentee bids are an incredibly convenient way to participate in our auctions, and you can now place absentee bids directly on our website! When you leave an absentee bid, we will confidentially bid on your behalf during the auction. Absentee bids are also known as written, commission or order bids.
Follow these steps to leave an absentee bid on our website:
You need to sign into or create your personal Zacke account to leave absentee bids online.
To create your account, go to this page. Underneath 'create my account', enter your first name, last name, email address, and password. Your password will need to be at least 6 characters long, include a mix of upper- and lower-case letters, and have at least 1 number.
Once you have entered your details, click on the red button that says ‘Create my account’. On the following pages, you will need to provide:
Once you have shared these details, you will receive an email to verify your email address. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder or try searching for ‘office@zacke.at’.
On every lot page below the description, there is a place to leave absentee bids:
To place an absentee bid, simply enter your maximum bid in euros and click on the red button that says 'Place Bid'. We will bid up to that amount for you, and you may end up paying less than your maximum bid depending on the other bidding during the auction.
You can also choose to 'boost' your bid, which means we will raise your bid by up to three bid increments if you are outbid during the auction. For example, let's say you place an absentee bid for €1,000 and choose a +2 boost. If another bidder places a bid of €1,100 during the auction, we will bid €1,200 on your behalf.
Please note that when we receive two or more absentee bids for the same amount, the first bid received will be the one taken. If we need any more information from you to confirm your bid, such as a deposit, then we will reach out to you directly. Absentee bids must be at least the starting price and must align with our bid increments.
You can find all of your current bids by signing into your account, clicking on your name in the top right-hand corner of the screen, and selecting 'Current Bids'.
If you would like to change an absentee bid, you can do so from the 'Current Bids' screen. Click on the red button that says 'Edit' and a new window will pop up where you can change your bid:
If you wish to cancel an absentee bid, please contact us at office@zacke.at.
If you registered to bid on Zacke Live in addition to placing absentee bids, please note you will NOT see your absentee bids in the Zacke Live bidding portal. The auctioneer will execute your absentee bids during the auction.
Note: We’ve updated our terms and conditions to better protect all serious and committed buyers from bidding against non-payers. Bidders must clarify all questions specifically about the objects before the auction. A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity. We encourage you to read through these updates carefully (§34-50).
